E3 Best Practices and Drill Schedule Template

Successful teams that use E3 adopt some of the strategies outlined below.

Best Practices

  • Frequent practice: Regular E3 drills help familiarize staff with the system and build confidence.
  • Favorite locations and notifications: Remind staff to set their favorite locations and check their notification settings.
  • Redundancy: E3 allows for unlimited devices, so use E3 on all your available devices. Ensure your device(s) are ready with E3 and are logged in.
  • Map and plan review: Review your maps and plans (visit this article to learn how to email maps@emergent3.com with any map updates or changes).
  • Reporting: Generate reports. View alert history, who checked-in, etc.
  • Communication: Keep in touch with us. Reach out to your project manager anytime with questions, tips or schedule a refresher training.
  • Help Center: Get familiar with the Help Center.

Drill Schedule Template

  • Initial alert: Send an E3 alert within one week of completing staff training.
  • Monthly E3 Alerts/Drills: Keep it simple, like the first Tuesday of every month.
  • Integrated fire drills: Use E3 in conjunction with your fire drills.
    • For Example: Pull fire alarm, make the PA announcement and send E3 alert (typically you will not have a "Fire Drill" alert, so you will send an "Evacuate" alert or something similar.
  • All-staff drill: Schedule a drill during an all-staff meeting for easy troubleshooting and feedback.
  • Random alert assignment: Randomly choose a staff member to send an E3 alert for a drill, this gives your team the chance to not only respond to alerts but also send them.
