Best Practices for an Ideal Drill Schedule

Explore what makes an ideal drill schedule

  • Initial alert: Send an E3 alert within one week of completing staff training.
  • Monthly E3 Alerts/Drills: Keep it simple, like the first Tuesday of every month.
  • Integrated fire drills: Use E3 in conjunction with your fire drills.
    • For Example: Pull fire alarm, make the PA announcement and send E3 alert (typically you will not have a "Fire Drill" alert, so you will send an "Evacuate" alert or something similar.
  • All-staff drill: Schedule a drill during an all-staff meeting for easy troubleshooting and feedback.
  • Random alert assignment: Randomly choose a staff member to send an E3 alert for a drill, this gives your team the chance to not only respond to alerts but also send them.
